Opener for cloth handcuffs
Small and handy for easy cutting of disposable handcuffs. Ergonomic shape with an opening for a secure grip and ring for attaching to gear or keychain.
The countersunk cutting edge prevents injuries when handling.
The front part of the knife, made of plastic, has a special shape so that the knife can be easily pushed under the handcuff.
Handcuffs are used by the police, correctional services, customs or private security services to conduct arrests and transfers. In contrast to most weapons in Germany, the possession of handcuffs by private individuals is not prohibited.
The history of the handcuffs:
In the Middle Ages, handcuffs consisted of semicircular iron halves that were fixed with locks or simple mechanical devices such as hammered rivets and connected with a chain. From the early 1860s handcuffs with "modern" lock mechanisms were introduced. The first handcuffs with multiple locking positions also appeared in the 19th century.
On February 20, 1912, the still current principle of the bail arm, which swings around a pivot point through a double arch fixed to the lock housing, was patented in the USA.
